The main reason we chose ISO 21500 over other potential certifications is because it represents a foundation for all other standards and has come about through intense negotiations between project organizations around the world. In this respect, the ISO represents a common framework and concepts to understand and talk about the project.

To obtain certification you must pass the course. In addition, you must pass a multiple-choice test that demonstrates you have mastered the project management concepts and language as delineated in the standards. If you pass the test you will then receive a certificate electronically and is additionally registered in the DS database of certified project managers. DS maintains the website for the certification. This include information on upcoming test, registration for the test and a list of the certified persons

In order to become certified, you need to pass the course (42429 or 42430) and a multiple-choice certification exam, which takes place twice a year. The dates are defined in the course schedule.
